Hi, my name is Laurie. I love teaching and was inspired to become an educator by my own teachers who went above and beyond to make learning fun and engaging. I am passionate about helping students who struggle to learn by traditional teaching methods. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a reluctant learner become a confident student through the use of a multi-sensory teaching approach.

I am a certified elementary education teacher with over twenty years of teaching experience. I have worked in public, private, and home school settings.  I have worked with students in grades K-8 in both general education as well as special education classrooms.

In 2020 I completed training through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham and became an Associate member.  I primarily work with children with dyslexia using the Orton-Gillingham approach, but am also trained in multi-sensory math which is based on Orton-Gillingham principles.

I provide tutoring from my home office, located in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC, more specifically, Fort Mill, South Carolina. You may contact me through this website.
